Congratulations to our Guild Training Student of the Month, Julie Terry from Bundaberg Discount Drug Store. Julie was nominated by her Guild Trainer Linden Pirrone after being inspired by her ambition, determination and commitment to her professional development.
As Linden explains, “The story began in November 2016 when I was visiting one of my other students who had just completed her Certificate III in Community Pharmacy. When in store I presented my student Kimberley Potter with her Certificate and her Certificate III badge which can be seen in a 2016 Photos from the Road.
“In this picture you will actually see Julie standing back and admiring Kimberley’s badge. When I was taking the photo I vividly remember Julie saying “I want a badge too”.
“Julie’s employer Tanya Bowden said “Well Julie if you really want a badge you will need to study your Certificate IV”. I spoke to Julie to explain exactly what was involved in undertaking a Certificate IV and handed her an enrolment form.
“Two and a half years later, here she is! Proudly wearing her badge and displaying her certificate of completion for her Certificate IV in Community Pharmacy.
As the May 2019 Student of the Month, Julie will go into the draw to win the 2019 Student of the Year. The Student of the Year will win a Full Registration to the Pharmacy Assistant National Conference 2020. Please read the Terms and Conditions here.
