Do you know someone who is keen to take their community pharmacy career to the next level?
The Fundamentals of Community Pharmacy course may be for them. As part of the Community Learning Project, the Certificate II in Community Pharmacy SIR20112 will be subsidised by the Queensland Government for eligible students.
Courses will be held in Queensland in the coming months, with the first starting on 9 March on the Gold Coast. Each class will be small, so students will have optimal opportunities to learn from highly qualified trainers, who have extensive experience in community pharmacy.
For six weeks, full time (Monday – Friday, 9am – 3:30pm), students will gain work ready skills they can take with them to their new role as a pharmacy assistant. The course covers a range of topics, including how to support the supply of pharmacy medicines and pharmacist only medicines, how to interact with customers, and how to assist customers with eye and ear, oral care and hair and beauty products. Students will walk away with the fundamental knowledge they need to be a great pharmacy assistant and a nationally recognised Certificate II in Community Pharmacy SIR20112.
As part of the six week course, students will also do a 2-week unpaid vocational placement so they can put your new skills into practice with the support of fellow pharmacy assistants. Students will also be provided with job search training and tips on resume writing to help them gain employment within a pharmacy.
