Nominations now open for Pharmacy Assistant of the Year 2016

Nominations are now open for Australia’s premier pharmacy assistant competition, The 2016 Pharmacy Guild of Australia/GuildSuper Pharmacy Assistant of the Year Award (PATY)!

PATY recognises and celebrates the role played by pharmacy assistants on the frontline of health care as well as providing an opportunity for pharmacy assistants to showcase their skills, knowledge and experience.

At this month’s APP Conference, the 2015 National Pharmacy Assistant of the Year, Erin Pavy donned her PATY t-shirt and spoke to hundreds of pharmacy assistants, pharmacists and pharmaceutical representatives about the importance of nominating an exceptional pharmacy assistant. She wants to encourage all pharmacy assistants to nominate themselves or a colleague in this year’s awards:

erinParticipating in PATY gives pharmacy assistants the opportunity to showcase their skills, ideas and knowledge which is very rewarding. The whole process was incredibly supportive. Most of all, it was amazing to be recognised by my employer, and the industry as a whole, for the work I do as a pharmacy assistant.

Since winning, I have been provided the opportunity to write for national magazines, present at our National Banner Group conference in Vietnam, attend local school career days and much more to highlight the valuable and rewarding career of a pharmacy assistant – it’s been an amazing experience that I will never forget!

If you know an extraordinary pharmacy assistant dedicated to their career, show that you appreciate them, and nominate them for PATY!

Successful nominees attend special workshops in their state, where they network, gain leadership skills and receive exclusive training and pharmacy industry insights. State winners then attend the popular Pharmacy Assistant National Conference on the Gold Coast in October for the big announcement!
