Eloise has been a Trainer /Assessor with the Guild for over 15 months, and has a wealth of knowledge from her 19 years in retail pharmacy! We sat down with Eloise to discuss why she always aspired to become a Trainer /Assessor and what motivates her each day.

How long have you been working at The Pharmacy Guild Queensland Branch?

I have been working as a Trainer/ Assessor for fifteen months and it’s gone so quickly! It’s been enjoyable and rewarding as I thoroughly enjoy assisting to educate and help my students in achieving their goals.

How did you get started in pharmacy?

I enrolled myself in Wal Scerri Pharmacy Academy in 1995, and I’ve been in Pharmacy ever since I completed my training! I worked in retail pharmacy for 19 years, before joining the Guild as a Trainer/ Assessor.

What qualifications have you gained?

I have a Certificate III in Community Pharmacy and I completed my Certificate IV in Training and Assessment last year. I think it’s really important to continue to grow and learn in pharmacy especially being a trainer/assessor.

What is your biggest achievement from your time in the Guild?

Completing my Certificate IV in Training and Assessment! I love learning new skills, implementing them into my work, and passing that knowledge onto my students!

What pushed you to become a Trainer /Assessor?

I always wanted to be able to teach and train in pharmacy. When I enrolled myself in Wal Scerri Pharmacy Academy in 1995, I hoped that I would become a Trainer /Assessor. After 19 years of experience in retail pharmacy, I felt that the time had come to pass along my knowledge and experience.

What do you enjoy most about your job as a Trainer / Assessor?

I enjoy being able to share my knowledge and experience to all my very inspiring and eager students! I also love being able to visit my students across Queensland and see them put their knowledge that they have learnt into practice in their pharmacies.

What do you do in your spare time?

I love to read a really good book, and I love to let loose on a dance floor (any dance floor, anytime!!)

What inspires you?

My colleagues inspire me to continue to improve, learn and motivate my students.

What would you chose as your super power?

I would love to be able to time hop – I would love to witness some of the amazing things happen throughout history. I would have watched the Egyptians build the pyramids!
